Native Englander, Tina Jesson moved to Indiana in 2008 when her husband of over 20 years was relocated with his job at Rolls Royce Aero Engines. Tina is the owner of Tina’s Traditional Old English Tearoom in Carmel and lives in Brownsburg Indiana. Tina was born in Derbyshire, a central county of England, in the East Midlands, about 100 miles north of London and was raised in a small village by her Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Gladys Woolley who was born in 1899 and worked as a Scullery Maid at Bradley Hall at the time Downton Abbey was set.
Tina is the author of “Tina’s Traditional Book of Scones”and “Tina’s Traditional Book of Afternoon Tea”. As a trained educator she offers a series of Tea Talks, Tea Tastings, and classes in Table Etiquette. She has presented talks at The American Heart Association, The Herb Society and at various libraries in the area. You’ll also have seen Tina presenting at the Indiana State Fair for the past 3 years. Tina is a regular chef on the IndyStyle TV show where she demonstrates her recipes and explains the history behind them. Tina holds a certificate in “Food as Medicine”from the Center for Mind- Body Medicine and a diploma in Hotel /Restaurant Management.
